“What are you most looking forward to in a post-pandemic world? I’m certainly looking forward to the big things, like finally getting to have the wedding and honeymoon we dreamed of, but I’ve found myself thinking a lot more about those small spontaneous moments I’ve taken for granted. Stopping by my sister’s or parent’s house on a whim, spending all day on the boat with our friends, camping and hiking trips, eating out at our favorite spots, and especially hugging my niece and nephew after over a year of only seeing them via FaceTime.

For these reasons, and so many more, I didn’t hesitate when my chance came to take the COVID-19 vaccine. To get back to those things we treasure and miss the most, this vaccine is our best chance forward. I’ve been grateful to work in the medical field throughout this pandemic, so I’ve always felt well-informed on how to keep myself and loved ones safe. I know this hasn’t been the case for everyone, but I’m hoping that more Mainers will educate themselves on the science behind this vaccine. After receiving my second dose last night, I woke up feeling more hopeful for our future and the chance to hug my loved ones again.”
